Agronomist
Agronomist – Warwickshire – Competitive Salary (experience dependant) + Company Vehicle

In this key role, you will take ownership of the agronomy of all UK crops, overseeing the entire process from seed to harvest, and collaborating closely with the Crop Management team. This role offers the chance to innovate and implement new crop production methods to meet these evolving needs.  If you are passionate about sustainability and crop management, we would love to hear from you!

The Job:
The role involves providing crop protection advice for a variety of crops, with a focus on sustainable practices such as Integrated Pest Management (IPM) and Integrated Crop Management (ICM) to reduce reliance on conventional pesticides.
Responsibilities include managing chemical procurement, coordinating sprayer operators, and maintaining accurate records through farm management software. The position also requires working with the Crop Management team to develop fertiliser recommendations and oversee soil testing using tools like SOYL and Omnia.

Key duties include updating pesticide lists, managing farm audits for certifications such as LEAF and Red Tractor, and ensuring compliance with regulatory changes. The role involves assessing pesticide suitability, representing the business on technical committees, and maintaining relationships with organisations such as Horticultural Crop Protection (HCP).

The position also includes conducting trials on new active ingredients and non-chemical control methods, supporting biodiversity and regenerative farming initiatives, and contributing to innovation within the business.

The Candidate:
- BASIS and FACTS certifications
- Preferably, experience in field vegetable production
- Proficient in IT, with familiarity in systems such as Gate Keeper, Muddy Boots, and similar tools
- Strong team player, able to deliver excellent internal support and service.
