Fruit Farm Manager
International Fruit Farm Manager - West Africa - £70,000 DOE + Relocation assistance + Accommodation + Benefits!
The Company:
A global leader in sustainable farming and food production, with a focus on delivering high-quality produce worldwide. Set within 350 hectares dedicated to vegetables and stone fruit production. With advanced pack house and processing facilities they are equipped to handle 240 tons of produce.
The Job:
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Crop Manager specialising in stone fruit, with an emphasis on mango production, to oversee and optimise expansive operations in Gambia. This international role requires an individual with deep expertise in stone fruit crop management, as well as strong experience in both the technical and logistical aspects of managing large-scale agricultural operations.
- Oversee the planning, development, and maintenance of 300+ hectares of stone fruit production
- Develop and implement best-practice crop management strategies, focusing on optimising yield, quality, and sustainability
- Lead production planning and crop scheduling to align with the demands of local and international markets
- Manage a team of farm staff, providing training in innovative crop techniques and sustainable practices
- Coordinate harvest, post-harvest, and transportation logistics, ensuring efficient operations to maintain quality during transit
- Collaborate closely with the pack house and processing teams to ensure seamless movement from farm to export
- Monitor soil health, irrigation systems, and pest control programs, ensuring optimal growing conditions for high-quality stone fruit
- Conduct regular crop performance assessments and provide reports and insights to senior management
The Candidate:
- Proven experience in crop management, ideally with stone fruit, in an international setting
- Strong knowledge of tropical agriculture, pest management, and post-harvest handling
- Demonstrated expertise in large-scale farm operations and supply chain logistics
- Leadership experience, with a focus on team building and fostering a productive work culture
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt to dynamic farm conditions.
The Package:
- £40,000 to £70,000 DOE
