Head of Business Development
Head of Business Development – Sustainability - UK (work remotely) - £100,000.00 DOE + Bonus + Shares + Health Care
The Job:
We are seeking an exceptional individual to lead and expand a market-leading sustainability business, with a strong focus on supply chains. This organisation already works with numerous global brands. This role is focused on delivering excellence for existing customers whilst attracting new ones. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker and hands-on leader with a strong background in sustainability and business growth.
Is This Role for You?
You are a proactive doer who is ready for your next challenge. You have a solid track record of business growth, ideally in sustainability, and a deep understanding of the sector. You’re frustrated by traditional approaches to sustainability and believe in innovative solutions. Experience in food or general merchandise supply chains, particularly with assurance and certification, is a plus. You are also tech-savvy and comfortable working with software solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a strategic growth plan for the sustainability division
- Strengthen relationships with existing customers, ensuring satisfaction and long-term collaboration
- Attract and secure multiple new clients within the next five years
- Collaborate effectively with internal teams to integrate sustainability initiatives across the business
- Enhance technology offerings to create market differentiation
- Identify and establish strategic partnerships that support sustainability objectives
- Work closely with marketing and communications teams to position the company as a leader in sustainability solutions

The Candidate:
- Proven experience in growing a business
- Strong technical knowledge in sustainability, or a degree in food-related or similar fields
- Commercial acumen, including some P&L responsibility
- Leadership and team management experience
- Innovative mindset and ability to develop new solutions
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex concepts
- Strong leadership, fostering a culture of innovation
- Forward-thinking and adaptable to industry changes
- Extensive knowledge of current sustainability tools and technologies, with a vision for future advancements
The Package:
- Basic salary £60,000- £85,000 per year DOE
